SM influencers, Distros, hardworking artistes now control Nigeria’s entertainment industry — Guitarman

A popular singer, Olugbemiro Tokunbo, aka Gt Da Guitarman has disclosed that the country’s entertainment is now in the hands of social media influencers, distribution companies and very hardworking artistes.

While making this disclosure to Tribune Online on Saturday morning, Guitarman said the sky is the starting point with more volume in terms of content creation being channeled to the right places.

Touching on his new EP ‘Elody’, Olugbemiro explained it is basically to explore innovative sounds, and lyrical themes that resonate with the GenZ audience.

According to him, he was not trying to pass any serious message but to exude positive emotions while also showcasing artistic growth and versatility.

Expressing optimism towards the EP, he expects greatness, ascension of the GT brand and series of exciting releases of new music on the EP, adding that he is bringing his acoustic show,  GTIF.

“Nigeria’s entertainment industry is now in the hands of social media influencers, distribution companies and it is also in the hands of a very hardworking artistes.

“With more volume in terms of content creation being channeled to the right places, i think the sky is the starting point.

The rationale behind the tracks on the EP ‘Elody’ is basically to explore innovative sounds, and lyrical themes that resonate with the GenZ audience.

“The EP is basically tailored towards the GenZ audience. I wasn’t trying to pass any serious message, I wasn’t trying to be political like I had been before. I was trying to exude positive emotions while also showcasing artistic growth and versatility. 

“I am expecting greatness. I am expecting the ascension of the GT brand would have started. I am expecting a series of exciting releases of new music on the EP. We are bringing GTIF back, which is an acoustic show,” he said.

GT D Guitarman had been famous with the song ‘Dreamer’ and subsequently released a couple of other songs like Tire, Ejika, Ife Dakun.
