Sevilla announced on Monday that Sergio Ramos is departing the club after his contract expired.
Last season, Ramos featured in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring seven goals as Sevilla finished 14th in La Liga.
According to ESPN, Sevilla expressed interest in retaining the 38-year-old, but Ramos chose to depart due to concerns over the team’s sporting and institutional situation.
Ramos is now receiving interest from Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer (MLS). However, he has yet to make a decision about his future and is open to various possibilities.
On Tuesday, Ramos will hold a press conference at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium alongside Sevilla’s president, José María del Nido Carrasco, to formally announce his departure.
