Business mugul, Ega, joins APC in Ebonyi

A business mogul, Chief Paul Chidiebere Ega, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) with hundreds of his supporters, ahead of the July 20, 2024 Local Government Council elections in Ebonyi.

Chief Ega was officially received into the APC fold at the APC Local Government Elections campaign held on Saturday at Ezillo, the headquarters of Ishielu LGA, by the State Party Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha.

Ega said he decided to join the APC to support the good works of the State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

According to him, the Governor has made the youths of Ebonyi State not just leaders of tomorrow but today, through his exemplary governance.

“I joined APC today because of what the Governor of the State, Rt Hon Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, is doing. I call him “Hope Alive” because he has given the youths of Ebonyi hope.

“He has made the youths the leaders of not just tomorrow but today. That’s why I’m ready to work to ensure that Ishielu LGA is totally for the APC and APC totally for Ishielu people,” he said.

Chief Ega who is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chidi Ega Foundation said he was contemplating whether to join the APC or PDP but having seen the good works of the Governor, he decided to join the APC to support him.

“I am a business man. I was not in any party before, but I was having double mind whether to join the APC or PDP, but having seen what our Governor is doing, I decided to join him in APC to support his good works,” he stated.

He further assured the people of Ishielu that he would join hands with them to rebuild and uplift the LGA to enviable heights.

“To my people of Ishielu, I want to assure you that we shall join hands to rebuild Ishielu and take it to the next level.

“Whatever that has happened in Ishielu before is now a bygone. And with the help of the Governor, and the leadership of APC, we are going to rebuild Ishielu,” he concluded.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, applauded Chief Ega for taking the bold step of joining the APC with his supporters, stating that the good works of Governor Nwifuru had turned Ebonyi into a one-party State.

Okoro-Emegha further assured the decampees into the APC of a level playing grounds as the party, according to him, was large enough to accommodate everybody.
