Spain prodigy Lamine Yamal has revealed that he has never discussed a now-viral photo with Lionel Messi, which shows Messi bathing Yamal when he was a toddler.
Yamal, who impressed at Euro 2024 with La Roja, addressed the photo during an interview with Jijantes FC. He explained, “I’ve never talked to Messi about the photo where he was bathing me. At the time, I was too young to be aware of it. My father kept it private to avoid comparisons, which are generally unhelpful.”
With both players making their mark at Barcelona, Yamal has faced comparisons to Messi. However, the 17-year-old acknowledges that he will never match Messi’s legendary achievements. “No one minds being compared to the greatest player in history, but those comparisons remain because I will never be like him,” Yamal said.
