Gov Makinde tasks private business owners on prompt revenue payment

Oyo governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has tasked private business owners in the state on prompt payment of revenue to boost the Internally Generated Revenue, (IIGR).

Makinde gave the task at the 2023/2024 graduation ceremony of the Royal Spices Academy, Ibadan on Tuesday.

He said the payment of revenue as required by the law became imperative for the government to carry out its constitutional responsibilities.

The governor who was represented at the occasion by Mrs. Esan Williams of BOTAVED commended the management of the RSA for their vision which is aimed at empowering the youths as well as decongesting the labour market.

Makinde who stressed the need for skills acquisition advised the youth to develop their inbuilt talents rather than relying on the white collar jobs.

Speaking in the same vein, the Rector of the RSA, Dr. Olubunmi Adegbile said the vision for the establishment of the Institution was borne out of their passion for the teeming youths in the Country.

According to her, “The ideas were conceived during our service years. It is meant to uplift the youth as well as contribute to the Socio-economic growth of the country.

On the establishment of the institution, she said, “We are celebrating a milestone in the lives of our 71 graduates. This momentous occasion marks the culmination of the graduates.

She added the graduates have undergone trainings in the art of culinary arts the precision of pastry and finger foods and the creativity of cake making and sugar craft to the excellence in hotel and hospitality management.

In her breakdown, 38 students were awarded certificate in Culinary Arts, 17 students were awarded Diploma in Culinary Arts, 2 students were certificate in Pastry and Finger foods, 5 students were awarded certificate in Cake making and Sugar crafts, 2 students were awarded Diploma in Cake making and Sugar craft and 3 students were awarded certificate in Hotel and Hospital management.
