Katsina elders seek Tinubu’s intervention over road contract revocation

Katsina State Forum of Elders (KSFE) has appealed to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to intervene in the revocation of the Katsina/Dutsinma to Marrarbar Kankara road contract by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.

The group described the revocation as a negation of the President’s good image and support enjoyed due to the contract.

The contract, awarded in April 2024, was welcomed by Katsina citizens, and its revocation has raised concerns about the Minister’s alleged personal interests in favouring his cronies’ companies.

The KSFE spokesperson, Dr Namanga Danmajiya, stated that the road project, which transcends to Niger Republic, would benefit Nigeria in inter-continental movements of goods.

The group urged President Tinubu to intervene, safeguarding his support and show of love from the people, and allowing the contract and contractor to continue their work.

They assured that the President is a nationalist who believes in the good of every section of the nation and would not intentionally revoke the contract without being manipulated.
