The chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Sokoto State, Honourable Isa Sadiq Acida, has explained that the party is fully ready for the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
Recall that the state independent electoral commission has earmarked September 2024 for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
The chairman made the disclosure on Saturday while submitting lists of the 23 local government candidates and 244 names of the councillors in the state.
He said the APC has conducted its primaries in the presence of the state electoral commission and the security agencies.
In his remarks, the chairman of the commission, Alh. Aliyu Sulaiman said the commission is now set to start screening all the candidates submitted to it.
He assured me that no one would be victimised during the screening exercise. He said
The commission’s role is to screen qualified candidates to ensure that qualified candidates are screened.
The chairman said the commission will start the screening on August 7th this year.
