A three-time commissioner for Rural and Community Development in Kano State, Alhaji (Dr.) Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, has urged Nigerian governors to fear God and utilize the N570 billion allocated to them by President Bola Tinubu for youth and women development programs to alleviate the suffering and hardship in the country.
He warned that if they ignore his advice and misuse the funds or divert them for personal gain, they will be judged by posterity.
Kwankwaso, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this call on Friday while speaking with the press in Kano.
According to him, “Regarding the N570 billion given to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the governors should fear God, because posterity will not forgive them if they mismanage the funds or divert them for personal use.”

He urged them to use the funds for employing youths and women in their respective states.
Kwankwaso also called on them to emulate the Ebonyi State government, which allocated N1 million to each of the 13,000 beneficiaries to help them start small-scale businesses, spending over N13 billion on empowerment.
Regarding those who allegedly instigated the nationwide protests, he described them as enemies of the country whose actions have political undertones.
He stated that their actions were intended to express their hatred and enmity towards President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
“They aimed to whip up sentiment to tarnish the image of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima. But they have failed, as their negative antics have, instead of damaging their image, increased their popularity,” he said.
He expressed dismay over comments attributed to Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, who accused security operatives of failing to protect the Kano Printing Press and the ICT hub of the NCC from vandalism during the hunger protest despite having available intelligence reports.
He added that as an appointee of the state government, such a statement should not come from a monarch at this crucial period.
“He should have encouraged the security operatives for their efforts to restore normalcy, law, and order in the state. I also wish to commend the National Security Adviser, Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu, the Chiefs of the Army, DSS, and the Nigeria Police for their collective actions to restore normalcy during and after the hunger protest.”
Kwankwaso called on Northerners to give the Tinubu/Shettima administration time to reposition the country, adding that they mean well for the nation.
