APC youths berate Northwest PDP over allegations against Tinubu’s minister

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing Mobilisation Vanguard has called on the elders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the North West to focus on resolving their internal political crises rather than involving the Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, in their failures.

The Chairman of the group, Alhaji Ashiru Tukur, made this statement while reacting to the PDP’s accusations of political harassment against their supporters in the Northwest by Minister Matawalle.

It should be recalled that on Thursday, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Professionals Support Movement urged President Bola Tinubu to stop the alleged harassment of opposition leaders in the region by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle.

In response to these accusations, the chairman of the APC group declared that the allegations of political harassment by any means under the current administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu are baseless and merely cheap political propaganda aimed at tarnishing the image of the APC-led administration.

He described the PDP in the North as a group of disappointed and failed politicians who have mastered the art of mischief, purposefully creating political instability and sowing distrust among Nigerians.

“Apart from the PDP’s woeful failure, they have been unable to govern even in states plagued by poverty, economic degradation, and insecurity due to negligence and poor governance.

“Whenever the PDP wants to divert attention from their incompetence at the state level, they resort to mudslinging and name-calling.

“This is merely a display of the incompetence and weakness associated with hatred and the blackmail of targeted political figures like Minister Matawalle, in an attempt to create heightened tension, conflict, and disharmony at a time when people are seeking solutions to end insecurity, hunger, and poverty,” said Tukur.

He further stated, “Matawalle is a philanthropist who, even now as a Minister, continues to support the people of the state during times of hardship and joy. Recently, he and Senator Abdulaziz Yari donated millions in cash, food items, and assorted materials to people affected by a flood disaster in Gummi Local Government Area of the state. This, despite the aggression and enmity displayed against him and his political allies under the PDP’s watch.

“It is imperative to recognize the harmful consequences of the PDP’s deliberate attempt to smear Matawalle’s name, as this undermines the foundation of collaborative efforts, hinders social cohesion, and fosters an environment counterproductive to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.

“President Tinubu aims to cultivate a society characterized by mutual respect, understanding, and progress.

“It is essential, therefore, under such leadership, to avoid divisive tactics and instead foster an ethos of cooperation, empathy, and constructive communication, rather than heating up the polity at this sensitive stage as promoted by these enemies of peace, cohesion, and progress.”

The group, however, demanded an urgent apology from the PDP leaders for what they called a “sponsored campaign of calumny” against the hardworking and trusted leader, Hon. Bello Matawalle, and other APC leaders. They also urged Nigerians to be wary of these alarmists, who are only interested in destroying our common interests for their selfish gains.
