Edo guber: I’ll win by landslide — PDP’s Ighodalo

Asue Ighodalo, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 21, 2024 governorship election in Edo State, said he will win the forthcoming election with a landslide if a level playing ground is provided for the poll.

He raised the concern while on Arise Television’s Monday morning programme and monitored by Tribune Online.

Ighodalo who prided himself as the most qualified and suitable candidate amongst other parties’ candidates to take over the mantle of governance from Godwin Obaseki, noted that with N60 billion to N75 billion, his administration would fix water problem in the state.

The frontline guber candidate explained that the budget estimate is based on a recent assessment of the water reticulation project.

He revealed that financing government projects will not be a challenge to his administration given his backgrounds as head of key institutions and Corporate entities and investments expert.

The PDP candidate listed tourism, agriculture, manufacturing sectors and increased in internally Generated Revenue as sources of funds for the project.

“Our recent assessment suggests that we would probably need between N60 billion to N75 billion to solve the water problems in Edo State.

“The issue is where are we going to get the money from? I have spent part of my life raising money for Corporate and institutions. So, I know where the money is.

“The issue is, for those who have the money, use the money for the.things you said you were going to use it for effectively.

“Edo State earns a revenue of N15 billion to N17 billion at peal time in a month. We need to build a big pie. So, we should be looking at Edo State that doubles or tripled that as quickly as possible,” he said.
