Edo guber: PDP’s Ighodalo promises electricity, others for Fugar, Agbede

The governorship flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Asue Ighodalo, has stated that his administration would generate electricity for the people of Etsako Central Local Government Area through the use of a gas pipeline that passes through the area.

Ighodalo made this assurance during his campaign visit to Fugar and Agbede towns, both in the Edo North Senatorial District of Edo State.

He promised to eradicate poverty, create wealth, and promote good governance in Edo if elected as governor, emphasizing that what the state needs right now is continuity for progress and prosperity—a foundation laid by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate commended Governor Obaseki’s administration for improvements in the educational system, workers’ welfare, infrastructure, health, and other areas. He pledged to build on the existing progress in Edo State.

Addressing the crowd, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki described the PDP candidate as a “Chief Master Planner,” who, according to Obaseki, has the best plans to advance Edo State further into progress and prosperity.

Governor Obaseki expressed satisfaction with the large turnout at the Fugar campaign event.

He said, “I want to thank you all for this massive turnout even when they say Etsako Central is one of the smallest local governments in the state but you people still have this large crowd.”

Earlier, Chief Mike Ogiadomeh, a PDP chieftain and former deputy governor of Edo State, praised the Obaseki-led administration for its achievements, particularly for the people of Etsako Central Local Government.

He thanked the governor for endorsing Asue Ighodalo as his successor, describing him as “a man with proven track records.”

“The people of Etsako Central Local Government are fully behind Asue Ighodalo and will vote massively for the party and defend their votes,” he assured.

The Director General of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Council, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, urged voters to support the PDP in the election, stating, “The APC is not an option for progress in Edo State.”

In Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area, Dr. Asue Ighodalo promised that his administration would address the area’s poor electricity supply by establishing a transmission station in Agbede.

Governor Godwin Obaseki also assured the people that the water issues in Agbede would be resolved before the end of his tenure. He promised to complete all ongoing projects in the state and initiate additional ones.

Abudu Makoh, who led over two hundred APC members to join the PDP in Agbede, explained that they decided to switch parties due to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s good work in the state and the progress made in Agbede.

He stated that the PDP has the best candidate, one who is most prepared with the requisite capacity and competence to continue the positive developments currently being experienced in Edo State.
