Man Utd Held Talks to Sign £21.2 Million Player – Report

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about INEOS’s involvement at Manchester United so far, it’s that they aren’t afraid to spend big in the transfer market.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe strongly backed Erik ten Hag in the recently concluded window, with five new signings. United remain vigilant in the market for players who can enhance the squad, and their latest target appears to be Juanlu Sánchez. The 21-year-old Spaniard recently impressed while on international duty at the Olympic Games.

According to ABC Sevilla, Manchester United have held talks to sign the versatile player, who has a £21.2 million release clause. His performances during Spain’s gold-medal run caught the attention of the Red Devils.

Sánchez’s versatility makes him an attractive option for United, as he can operate anywhere along the right flank—in defense, midfield, or attack—and is also comfortable in more central roles. Known for his football intelligence and technical skill, the young Spaniard seems poised for a move to a top club.

While investing in Sánchez could be a smart move, United will need to plan his development carefully to ensure he gets regular playing time. They could follow Liverpool’s approach with Giorgi Mamardashvili, by paying the release clause and then loaning Sánchez back to Sevilla or another club to aid his progress.

It remains to be seen how United will proceed with their pursuit of the promising Spaniard.
