Japan head coach Michihisa Kano is anticipating a tough battle against Nigeria, according to Torizone reports.
The 2018 champions are set to face the Falconets in the second round of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Friday morning at Estadio El Techo, Bogota.
Despite Japan’s impressive performance in the group stage, where they won all three matches, Kano is aware that the knockout rounds present a bigger challenge.
“It was great to win all three matches, but we know the opponents will be tougher from this point,” Kano told FIFA.com.
“We need to focus on improving our fitness and team chemistry. Every team we face from now on will be strong, so we must be well prepared.”
