Ademola Lookman is in high spirits after playing a key role in Atalanta’s 3-2 victory over Fiorentina at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday.
Lookman netted the decisive goal for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team in his first Serie A start of the season and also provided an assist in the thrilling contest.
Speaking to DAZN after the match, the 26-year-old winger expressed his joy. “It feels great to be back in front of our fans and playing here. I’m enjoying it, and we have a strong squad this season. I’m happy to be part of it, so we keep moving forward.”
Atalanta will be competing in the UEFA Champions League this season following an impressive campaign last year. Their opening match is against Arsenal in midweek.
Lookman, a Nigeria international, shared his excitement about the upcoming challenge. “We’re thrilled to be in the Champions League this season,” he said. “We earned it and now we have to prove it. We want to show the same determination and mentality we had today in coming from behind.”
