Stop blackmailing Adeleke, Osun PDP warns members

The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has cautioned some of its members, creating an impression of division within the party, to focus on more productive tendencies and how to move the party forward.

The party also urged the members to stop blackmailing the leader of the party and the Executive Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Some party members had, on Sunday, asked the state Governor to put a stop to the victimisation and marginalization of some members of his part he perceived as enemies.

But reacting, PDP, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Ayodeji Areola, said the group was playing to the gallery of inordinate sensationalism.

It added that the party under there leadership of Adeleke would not bend to satisfy individuals who have disconnected themselves from their various constituencies.

The statement read, “PDP wondered whether the group lacks the discerning stamina to evaluate the meaning of victimization or merely living true to their boredom style of playing to the gallery of inordinate sensationalism.

“In any case, the PDP wishes to remind all and sundry that the open policy of the leadership of His Excellency and that of the party will not be sheepishly altered to spoon-feed individuals who have disconnected themselves from their various constituencies where all recent appointments made by Mr Governor were chosen and ratified.

“The PDP, in actual fact, has made it a standing policy with a robust understanding of the leader of the party, allowing political appointees to emerge from home fronts such that the teeming members of the party in various constituencies are given a proper sense of belonging in the workings of the current administration.

“It is therefore horrible for any political actor in the PDP to raise eyebrows with such open and inclusive policy, asking those who had willfully alienated themselves from their traditional political families and for reasons best known to them to retrace their steps and return to base, as the primitive era of ‘cheap blackmail for patronage’ in the party is long past.”
