The Planned peaceful walk from Oba Akran in Ikeja area of Lagos State to the Office of the Chief Executive Officer of the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in honour of the late Nigerian Musical Talent, Ilerioluwa Promise popularly known as Mohbad not held today.
Aged 27, Mohbad died last Tuesday in questionable circumstances and was buried the next day in Ikorodu area of Lagos sparking outrage among his fans.
The Demonstration is tagged Peaceful Walk for Mohbad to the Office of the Governor of Lagos State, Lagos State House of Assembly and Commissioner of Police.
However, Nigerian Tribune sighted a solo protest by a pocket of youths with a banner depicting Mohbad’s pictures and demanding for justice.
They were chanting ‘we want justice for Mohbad’.
While addressing the pocket of the protesting youths at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe assured the youths that justice will prevail in the investigation into the death of the rising Afrobeat singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
Mr Aregbe said there was no need for protest as the state government had taken steps to ensure justice would be done in the matter.
