NGO to raise financial support via worship for physically challenged

Worship4Change, a leading not-for-profit organisation in Nigeria, will hold a benefit concert on October 2, 2023, aimed at raising awareness and providing financial support for children suffering from cerebrospinal palsy and children with special needs.

Known as ‘Green Worship 6.0’, the event will be held at Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos. This was disclosed by the convener of Worship for Change, Wale Adenuga, during a media briefing in Lagos.

According to Adenuga, the objective of the event, which starts at 4 p.m., is to raise awareness and support for charities that care for orphans, children with special needs, and indigent children.

Among the artists expected to perform at the event are Nathaniel Bassey, Bob Fitts, Moses Bliss, and Tope Alabi.

“We want to see how to help these children attain their potential. Things are hard. Let those who can render help at whatever level they can.

Try to see how much of a difference you can make because there are pockets of need everywhere,” Adenuga disclosed.

He said that the four charity foundations expected to be beneficiaries of this year’s concert are:

Joy in Africa Foundation, Asaba, founded by Mrs Joy Okonjor
The Let Cerebral Palsy Kids Learn Foundation, Lagos, founded by Ms. Tobiloba Ajayi
Omo Re School, Ilorin, founded by Pastor Samuel Ajayi
Sechilde Centre, Abuja, was founded by Mrs. Kawan Aondofa Anjira.

Adenuga disclosed that last year, N75 million raised at the event was distributed to charities that care for orphans, children with special needs, and indigent children.

He used the occasion to enumerate the beneficiaries of the programmes since 2012.

According to Adenuga, the beneficiaries of the 2012 Worship for Change concert included Raco Child and Rural Care Initiative in Ibeju-Lekki, which received a cheque of 1.5 million, while the beneficiaries of the 2013 Worship for Change concert were the Centre for Destitute Empowerment and God’s Will orphanage.
