PUNCH reporter, Amusan, Oshoala nominated for Future Africa Awards

Deborah Tolu-Kolawole, a reporter with The PUNCH newspaper, has been nominated for the prestigious Future Africa Awards.

In the Sports category, nominees were Victor Osimhen, Tobi Amusan, Asisat Oshoala, Michelle Alozie, Mary Busayo Olatunji, and Ese Brume have been recognized for their remarkable contributions to the world of sports.

Tolu-Kolawole, who serves at The PUNCH’s Abuja Bureau, has been recognized in the Journalism category of the awards, alongside fellow nominees Akinlade Abiodun and Pelumi Salako.

The Future Africa Awards, now in its 17th edition, aims to honour outstanding young individuals between the ages of 18 and 31 for their remarkable achievements. With the theme “Defying Odds, Inspiring Greatness,” this year’s nominations have highlighted 128 individuals across 25 diverse categories, all of whom have demonstrated excellence and trailblazing efforts in their respective fields.

In the Journalism category, Tolu-Kolawole’s exceptional work at her work place earned her a well-deserved nomination with her dedication to reporting, along with her commitment to delivering insightful and impactful news stories, has contributed significantly to her recognition.

The Future Africa Awards also features other outstanding categories, including Young Person of the Year, Sports, and many more. Notable nominees in the Young Person of the Year category include Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, climate change and youth development activist Oluwaseyi Moejoh, D’Tigress Coach Ena Wakama, Stellar Initiative Founder Precious Eniayeka, and popular social media influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa.
