Gov Alia’s administration will bring succour to Benue people — SSG

Secretary to the Benue State Government, Prof. Joseph Shian Alakali has reiterated the commitment of Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, the state governor to bring succor to the people of the State.

Professor Alakali stated this in his independence anniversary message to the people of the State.

While he rolled out some landmark success already recorded, the SSG said, “As the first independence anniversary celebration since the emergence of the Gov. Alia administration, this year’s 63rd independence day is significant in the life of the Benue people.

“While assuring the people of the state of the total commitment of the government of Benue state to bring succour to them and ameliorate their hardship as exemplified in the subsidized fertilizer for Benue farmers at 50% affordable rate of N12,500 instead of the over N25, 500 in the market.

“Prompt payments of Salary, Pension and gratuity from 25th of every month, approval of the implementation of a new retirement age and length of service for primary and Secondary School teachers, payroll sanitation which uncovered over 2,500 non-existent employees saving the state over one billion naira.

“Approval for the training of 10,000 youth of the state in ICT under the title, ‘Benue Go Digital, recovery of numerous looted vehicles, tens of hectares of lands and numerous landed properties from the previous administration, announcement of improved monthly allowances of N15, 000 for National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members and N100, 000 for NYSC doctors serving in Benue.

“Implementation of the Revised Medical Training Fund (MRTF) 2023 at the revised rate for Resident Doctors in Benue State, reconstruction of the Benue State House of Assembly Complex, construction of 16 roads, measuring no shorter than 15.39 kilometers within the Makurdi metropolis.”

The SSG also said that the state government had ordered the purchase of 100 Hummer Buses for Benue Links Company and the Payment of WAEC and NECO Fees for Benue Students and prayed for God’s sustained vision and guidance for the success of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.
