Residents of Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State irrespective of political party affiliation have been assured of receiving palliation from the state government.
The assurance was given by the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi LGA, Alin Bababa while speaking during the distribution of rice to 10,764 residents of Five wards of the LGA.
The PDP Chairman said that the assurance became necessary in order to correct the erroneous impression that the palliative items were meant only for PDP members stressing that it was a deliberate attempt to politicise the process.
Alin Bababa stressed that the items distributed are a joint effort between the Federal and State Governments meant for all citizens of the state without resorting to political divide.
He then advised the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them to feed themselves and their families for the main period to alleviate the hard effects of the fuel subsidy removal.
In her remarks, the Caretaker Chairperson of Bauchi LGA, Zainab BabbaTakko warned miscreants to steer clear of the venues of the distribution exercise across the LGA warning that anyone caught disrupting the process will be dealt with.
She assured that all the people earmarked to benefit from the distribution will receive the items at the various designated points saying that the entire LGA will be covered.
