Nasarawa Speaker urges LG stakeholders to embrace peace

Speaker of Nasarawa House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has urged stakeholders and youths of Toto Local Government Area to embrace peace, unity, love and togetherness at all times for the overall development of the area and the State at large.

The Speaker made the call while playing host to Egbira Youth Movement, Lafia branch in his office in Lafia.

He said that no society would achieve any meaningful progress without unity and peace hence the need for his calls in that direction.

“Let’s bring ourselves together in unity to share ideas and problems for the overall development of Toto Local Government Area.

“Let’s always propagate the gospel of unity at all times as no society will achieve speedy development without unity and peace.

“I supported the ideas for the rotation of chairmanship seat among the three districts of Toto Local Government in the interest of unity, togetherness, fairness, justice and peace,” he emphasised.

According to him, “All what I am doing is to bring unity, peace, progress and development to Toto Local Government Area”.

Abdullahi called for change of attitudes among stakeholders and other people in the local government area for development to continue to thrive in the area.

“If some people in Toto Local Government did not change their attitudes, they have a long way to go and so many things can likely skip us.

“We must all have positive attitudes towards the development of Toto Local Government Area,” he said.

He urged stakeholders in Toto Local Government to protect the interest of the area and ensure the development of Toto rather than their personal interests.

The three-term speaker urged the youths and other stakeholders to pray and support him and the government of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

“Let our people know the benefits of peace, unity and oneness. Gov. Sule has passion for our LG, he has passion for our community, anybody in Toto LG fighting AA Sule has no love for our people, we should not allow some few people to destroy us because of their interest.

The Speaker commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for having Toto Local Government and the State at heart and called for its sustenance.

He assured of his continuous readiness to stand up for the youths and bring development to Toto Local Government Area.

“We will continue to provide good governance to the people of the area and the State,” he added.

Earlier, Comrade Mahmood Shuaibu Ohimegye, the President, Egbira Youth Movement, Lafia branch said that the visit was a congratulatory visit over his triple victory at the election, the speakership tussle and at the Tribunal.

Shuaibu, who spoke through Alhaji Hashimu Kassimu Obaraku also appreciated the Speaker for all his inclusive leadership in Toto and the state at large.

“Sir, congratulations for winning all the three battles, one your election victory, second the speakership victory and third the tribunal victory. You have done well and still doing well and we want to assure you of our support to succeed,” he said.

He appreciated the Speaker for appointments of Toto’s sons and daughters into various government positions and called for more.

The Egbira Youth Movement, Lafia branch presented an award of Excellence to the Speaker as an ” Icon of Peace and Justice” over his developmental strides.
