EAP: Akwa Ibom govt kicks off training of 400 vendors

The pledge by the Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno to place premium on entrepreneurship development has received a boost with the kick-off of the Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme (EAP).

The promise of sponsorship by His Excellency, Governor Eno, to train and empower registered vendors was fulfilled by 400 vendors who attended the maiden Made-In-Akwa Ibom Trade Fair recently.

Tribune reports that the training took off smoothly with eager faces, brimming with anticipation and resounding excitement.

Recall that the Governor had announced the donation of N250M to the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Centre, Ibom LED, for the training and mobilisation of about 400 entrepreneurs in the state, during formal flag-off of the Made in Akwa Ibom Trade Fair at Ibom-Led Headquarters, former Ibom E-Library), IBB Avenue, Uyo.

According to him, the gesture was in appreciation of the dexterity of the people in various trades and urged the entrepreneurs to take advantage of the trade fair to proudly exhibit their innovations and creativity.

The kick-off began with introductory sessions by the Faculty member and team Lead – Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob, and other Members of the Faculty.

It ended with an evening of Cocktails, where participants and faculty mixed, mingled, connected and raised their glasses to toast to new beginnings which EAP 01 signifies as well as the Arise Agenda.
