Adefarati hails appointment of Olusi as BOI MD

The Chairman of the House Committee on Labour, Productivity, and Employment, Hon. Gboyega Adefarati, has commended the appointment of Dr Olasupo Olusi as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry (BOI).

Adefarati, who represents the Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal constituency, lauded the appointment of Olusi, describing the new BOI Chief Executive Officer as a world-class economist with over 20 years of experience in serving as a World Bank economist and development finance expert.

He stated that Olusi’s appointment is a perfect fit for the role, expressing confidence that Olusi will contribute to turning around the fortunes of BOI and aiding the overall development of the country.

Adefarati commented, “Dr. Olasupo Olusi is a renowned economist and financial expert with a Master’s degree in International Money, Finance, and Investment, as well as a Doctorate in Finance and Economics from Durham University, United Kingdom.

He has a wealth of experience, with over 20 years of service at the World Bank, and has previously served as an economic adviser to the then Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.”

He commended President Tinubu for selecting Olusi, emphasising that the appointment was based on Olusi’s impressive qualifications.

Adefarati praised the president for prioritising expertise over political considerations in appointments to government agencies that require the services of experts.

He urged the new CEO of BOI to leverage his expertise and experience accumulated over the years to reposition the institution.
