Kano commissioner commends Yusuf on timely presentation of 2024 budget proposal

The Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Ali Makoda, has commended the State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for being the first governor in the country to present the 2024 appropriation bill to the state house of assembly.

He lauded the pragmatic leadership of Alhaji Yusuf for his zeal in projecting a sum of N13.4 billion to the water resources sector, describing it as a lofty idea and a strong commitment to pave the way for downtrodden masses to have easy access to drinkable water.

According to him, this action by Governor Yusuf’s administration indicates that he means business and is determined to hit the ground running in an effective and efficient way to improve the lives of the people of Kano.

Speaking on Saturday in Kano, while commenting on last Friday’s presentation of a budget proposal of over N357 billion tabled before the state lawmaker chamber, Alhaji Makoda disclosed that it covers all the necessary aspects needed to propel the state to greater heights.

He added that the proposed budget critically analyzes all the friendly and laudable programs promised by Governor Yusuf’s administration for the next year, describing them as commendable in addressing the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

With Governor Yusuf’s approach, even a person with disabilities would be convinced that he has done his homework judiciously, breaking down every expense to be understood by the ordinary man in the street.

The people of the state were pleased that Governor Yusuf tagged the 2024 budget as the “Budget of Restoration and Transformations.”

Additionally, the commissioner lauded Governor Yusuf for allocating a sum of N95.3 billion to the education sector, a timely gesture that would enhance the education standard that had been compromised by previous administrations.

Alhaji Makoda, while commending the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Honourable Jibril Falgore, for his mature leadership, noted that he has not disappointed the teeming masses of the state in various actions taken so far.

According to him, “Mr. Speaker’s response after Governor Yusuf presented the budget, indicating that the appropriation bill would be passed before the end of December 2023, is an indication that the lawmakers are in tune with the state Governor’s determination to execute laudable projects.”

Alhaji Makoda then called on the people of the state not to relent in their continued cooperation and prayers for Governor Yusuf’s efforts to take the state to greater heights.
