Kogi guber: APC chieftain urges electorate to vote Ododo

Ahead of November 11 governorship election in Kogi state, a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Haruna Yusuf has called on the people of the state to come out en mass and vote for the candidate of APC Alhaji Usman Ododo for more economic and infrastructural development of the state.

Yusuf, a former aide-de-camp to former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomole made the call on Saturday in Okene during the 40th-day fidau prayer of his mother Hajia Ashawu Yusuf who died on the 21st September 2023.

He described Ododo as the best candidate in the forthcoming governorship election, saying he (Ododo) has the capacity, charisma and experience to further move the state forward through continuity and consolidation on the numerous landmark achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.

“Usman Ododo is the best candidate with enormous experience. We should forget our differences and vote for a candidate that will be productive, listen to the people and make Kogi state greater.

“The three senatorial districts of the are one, Egbira, Igala and Okun are one, but when a particular section of the state had enjoyed the position for 19 years, it is right to allow another section to occupy the position then it will move to the section that never enjoys the position before.

“I am calling on the supporters of APC and indeed the entire people of Kogi state to vote for Ododo, he is our candidate and after that we will support the district that never govern the state to also have their share for sixteen years in the spirit of equity and justice” he stated.

In his speech, the chairman of the occasion and member of HYPPADEC Governing Board, Alhaji Isah Ozi Salami urged the children left behind by the late Hajia Ashawu Yusuf to emulate the good virtues of their mother, describing her as a mother for all.

“May the aftermath of mama’s departure brings more blessing to the entire family and relations” the elder statesman prayed.

Also in his goodwill message, the Ohi of Ihima, HRH Ahmed Abdulraheem Ogido, urged parents to be proactive in the training of their children no matter the economic situation, noting that the 40th-day prayer of late Asmau Yusuf was made possible because she was able to train her children morally and educationally.
