Kwara governor lauds NYSC on national cohesion

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State lauded the role of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in promoting national cohesion. He affirmed that the NYSC is the only government project that has developed a viable capacity over the years to address contemporary challenges in uniting the Nigerian populace.

The governor, represented by the Supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth Development, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, spoke during the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 swearing-in ceremony at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area. He called on NYSC members to remain focused and not relent in their efforts to use the scheme to achieve practical and sustainable national cohesion further.

Governor Abdulrazaq also emphasised his administration’s commitment to the welfare and security of corps members in the state.

Additionally, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, expressed his gratitude to the governor for the recent acquisition of 500 mattresses and the ongoing perimeter fencing of the Orientation Camp.

It should be noted that the NYSC commenced the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 orientation course on Wednesday, November 1, and it is expected to conclude on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
