In compliance with the order of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, the Economic ND Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has produced the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele in court.
Justice Adeniyi had on Monday reiterated his November 2 order directing the anti-corruption commission to either release Emefiele unconditionally immediately or produce him in court to be granted bail.
The former CBN Governor had approached the court to enforce his fundamental right.
He joined the Federal Government, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Executive Chairman of EFCC and the commission as respondents in the case.
As of the time of filing this report, the case has yet to be called for hearing.
