NAHCON chair constitutes, inaugurates teams for 2024 Hajj operation

In preparation for the 2024 Hajj, the Acting Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Arabi, inaugurated two committees to oversee and ensure the success of the operation.

The committees are; E-track Committee and the Pre-Licensing, Inspection of Tour Operators Committee.

Inaugurating the six-man E-track committee at the Hajj House in Abuja, Malam Arabi described the E-track as the nerve of Hajj preparation where all arrangements of visa, feeding, accommodation, transportation and payment are made.

He tasked members of the team to undertake the assignment given to them with utmost sincerity and diligence bearing in mind that if executed with honesty and integrity, they will not only have satisfaction of having successfully executed their duties but also get a reward from Allah.

“Your assignment is fundamental to the success or otherwise of Hajj operation; it is the heart and nerve of the entire Hajj activities.

“It is the reason you were carefully selected, based on your track record of sincerity, integrity and honesty,” the NAHCON boss said.

While assuring them of the management’s maximum support in the discharge of their assignment, Arabi challenged members to justify the confidence reposed in them.

In his words, “I want to assure you of my maximum support at all times so you will have no excuse for failing and non-performance. I want to therefore charge you to justify the confidence reposed in you by making us proud.”

Speaking while inaugurating an 11-man team on the 2024 Hajj Pre-Licensing Inspection Team for Tour Companies, Arabi charged members to discharge their assignment without fear or favour.

According to him, “Guard your integrity. You don’t need to lose your respect, you don’t need to belittle yourself, you don’t need to lower your esteem just for worldly things.”

Responding, the team leader of the E-track committee, expressed gratitude to the chairman and management for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the team.

He said that the team duly recognised the importance of the assignment given to them as it affected the success of the 2024 Hajj operation.

He assured that the team would do its utmost to not only justify the trust and confidence reposed in them but also work assiduously to make the management proud.

While calling on his team members to apply the principles of teamwork, strategic thinking and innovation in their assignment, the team leader prayed that Allah grants them the knowledge and capacity to undertake the assignment.

On his part, the team leader of the pre-licensing inspection team for tour companies also thanked the chairman for finding them worthy to serve.

He then assured them that they would execute their assignment diligently and submit a detailed report to the management.

NAHCON Deputy Director, Information and Publications, Mousa Ubandawaki, informed that the E-track committee would oversee the operation of Hajj E-track portal, while the pre-licensing team would inspect the offices of tour operator applicants.
