The Zamfara State government has released documents revealing how the immediate past governor of the state, Bello Matawalle misappropriated over N1 billion on an abandoned hotel service centre in Gusau, the state’s capital.
TheWitness gathered this information from a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday by Sulaiman Bala, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Zamfara governor.
The statement revealed that Former Governor and current State Minister for Defence, Bello Matawalle made a payment of 1,011,801,545.79 billion Naira to 180 Circle Construction & Engineering Ltd. for the construction of Gusau Motel that never got completed.
Furthermore, the Zamfara State government revealed that Bello Matawalle overpaid the contractor the sum of 667,713,161.64 million Naira.
