Ooni appoints Aworeni as new Jagunosini of Ife

The Ooni of Ife, Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has approved the appointment of Otunba Collins Kayode Aworeni as the new Jagunosin of Ife.

The approval was made on Tuesday following the interment on Saturday, climaxing all traditional burial rites for the immediate past Jagunosin and the late High Chief Johnson Akindoyin, who died last year at the age of 87.

Born in April 1976 in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Jagunosin designate hails from the Jagudu compound in Ile-Ife.

He attended INRI Nursery School, Onireke, in Ibadan; Central Primary School, Ilare, Ile-Ife; St. John’s Grammar School, Oke-Atan, Ile-Ife; and graduated from the Ibadan Polytechnic in 2005 with an HND certificate in Mass Communication.

Jagunosin, a prominent cabinet member of the Ooni-in-Council and one of the kingmakers of Ile-Ife, is among the eight members of the Obalufe-led AGBA-IFE on the right-hand side of the Ooni.
