Appeal Court verdict: Bauchi Speaker congratulates Gov Bala for another victory

Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has congratulated the Governor of Bauchi State, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, for emerging victorious at the Court of Appeal.

Recall that on Friday in Abuja, the Court of Appeal affirmed the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal and upheld the election as the validly elected governor of Bauchi State.

The Speaker, who is thrilled about the judgement, stated that although the outcome of the appeal did not come to him as a surprise, knowing fully that the Governor has indeed legitimately won his election and the judiciary would always give justice to whom justice is due.

The Speaker is excited because the sacred mandate given to the Governor by the good people of Bauchi State is further secured.

He stated that Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad is a true leader and servant of the people, whose progressive mind and versatility in politics and governance gave him uncommon strength beyond the reach of the opposition, no matter their antics.

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman also congratulated the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Auwal Muhammad Jatau, the people of Bauchi State, members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and all supporters and well-wishers of the Governor across the country.

He commended the legal team of the PDP and the governor for their professionalism and experience in seeing the governor and the party through the legal challenge.

The Speaker called on the opposition to put the interests of the state first, shelve any idea of further legal challenges that would end in futility, join hands with the governor in his Bauchi Development Agenda, and wait for 2027 to try their luck.

While expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for His uncountable blessings to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, his political co-travellers, and Bauchi State in general, he prayed that He will sustain the Governor in good health and wisdom to continue serving Him and humanity, as contained in a statement by Abdul Ahmad Burra, Spokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
