Security operatives, on Friday, took over strategic locations in the ancient city of Kano to avert break down of law and order following the judgment passed by the Appeal Court in Abuja, which sacked the state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This is just as the state was calm and every resident of the state doing their normal business, while major markets were open for business activities
It will be recalled that the state Commissioner of Police Mr Husaini Gumel through a statement by the state Spokesman SP Haruna Kiyawa had advised the residents against any jubilation after the ruling by the Appeal court Abuja
However, as early as 6 am, security operatives, the Police, the Civil Defence and other security men have taken over notable locations in the state
A situation round the state capital, the presence of Police and other security operatives were seen at the popular Zaria Road, Audu Bako Way, Murtala Muhammad Way, Ahmadu Bello Way
While road leading to State Road, where the State government house was located was blocked and road users were using another route to access the Hotoro road
However, residents of the state were seen in group discussing the outcomes of the ruling of the Appeal Court and it is not clear whether the state governor Alhaji Yusuf would drag the case to the Supreme Court.
