I will lead Kogi in positive direction — Gov-elect, Ododo

The Kogi State Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed his desire to lead the state in a positive direction that would bring about more dividends of democracy for the citizenry.

He made this known when the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, led the entire principal officers of the Polytechnic to pay a congratulatory visit to the Governor-Elect, assuring him of the Polytechnic’s support and loyalty to the incoming administration.

Alhaji Ododo noted that Kogi State has the potential to be a commercial hub, citing its geographical location and connection with other states.

While reassuring everyone that he would not renege on his campaign promises, which were all about uniting the state, the governor-elect called on those who contested with him and all citizens to come and support him in building a more virile Kogi State that all would be proud of.

He therefore commended Dr. Usman for his laudable roles that ensured his victory at the poll, just as he described him as a true patriot of democracy and a believer in one united Kogi State.

“I will live to appreciate you, Professor Ogbo; your type is what we need to build a Kogi State that will be loved by all,” he said.

Earlier, Dr Usman disclosed in his address that the visit was also to thank God for a successful poll that brought Alhaji Ododo as the right man who would surely consolidate and continue on the good leadership foundation laid by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

He praised the Governor-Elect for his maturity, humility, and peaceful nature, which contributed to his election as the next Governor of the State.

While reassuring him of the Polytechnic’s unalloyed loyalty and support, Dr Usman prayed to God to lead Alhaji Ododo right and bless him with the needed wisdom and direction to govern the state.

The Deputy Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr Samuel Taiwo Olowo, who spoke on behalf of other principal officers, thanked the Governor-Elect for graciously granting an audience to the Polytechnic, just as he prayed for him to have a successful reign as Governor of the State.

Highlights of the visit included the presentation of an artwork (a peacock) to Alhaji Ododo, which represents courage, strength, royalty, and quality leadership.
