Ondo 2024: Group roots for Akinfolarin

A sociopolitical group, Ondo Good Governance, has called on former House of Representatives member, Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, to toss his hat in the ring for the governorship polls next year.

The group, which vowed to mobilise a large number of youths and women across the eighteen local governments to vote for Akinfolarin, said he is the only candidate who has the expertise, requisite capacity, and experience to set up a structure that will cater for the welfare of the masses and party supporters, provide adequate security to protect the lives of the citizenry and deliver the state from the shackles of misgovernance.

According to the group, the state cannot afford to make another mistake in choosing the right leader, hence the need for us to shine our searchlight on a leader with a proven track record of performance, infrastructural development and the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy

In a press statement, the coordinator of the group, Sunkanmi Alonge, said their support for the former lawmaker is for a better future for the state, noting that he (Akinfolarin) has the capacity to lead Ondo State to a future that will fulfil the dreams of the founding fathers and present and future generations.

Alonge stated that the group will mobilise artisans, students, marketers, women, and other stakeholders who share in the developmental vision of Akinfolarin.

“His developmental strides when he was serving as a lawmaker representing the Ileoluji Oke Igbo/Odigbo federal constituency endeared him to us. He used his position as Chairman, Federal Road Safety Commission, to facilitate employment opportunities for youths in the state.”

“His uncommon leadership qualities and good works are impressive and worthy of emulation”, the statement read.
