Zamfara: Gov Lawal vows to continue development amidst opposition

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has disclosed that opposition would not deter him from bringing more development to the state, saying Allah has chosen him as Governor and, God willing, he would remain as governor no matter the opposition or hypocrites.

It could be recalled that the Appeal Court has cancelled the governorship election in Zamfara State and ordered a rerun in the state.

Addressing a mob of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters on Monday night at the secretariat of the party in Gusau after he returned from a foreign trip, Governor Lawal said he was ready for the rerun election.

He expressed optimism that he would still emerge victorious at the rerun election and appealed to supporters of the PDP to remain calm.

“Even if the election is held tomorrow, I will, Insha Allah, emerge as the winner. There is no cause for alarm, he assured.

“Allah has chosen me as Governor of Zamfara. God willing, I would remain as Governor no matter the opposition or hypocrites”. He said

“God has chosen me to be the governor, and I don’t think there is anyone who can change the will of Allah.”

Governor Dauda stressed that the opposition was envious of the development brought to the state, “We have paid all entitlements of the civil servants and paid students WAEC and NECO fees, which they failed to pay”.

“We have also solved the problem of water scarcity and embarked on the construction of township roads in Gusau town with other developmental work”.

The Governor appreciated support and encouragement from the supporters of the PDP through their prayers, which he said has given him more zeal to pilot the affairs of the state.
