APM urges INEC to execute Court order to recognise party

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to execute the court decision that directed the electoral body to recognise the party.

It also called on the general public to note that Alh Muhammad Musa Bagana is the duly elected national chairman of the party.

The party made its decision known during a stakeholder meeting of the party held in Kaduna.

Speaking during the stakeholders meeting of the party, the national chairman, Muhammad Musa Bagana, thanked the Kaduna state chairman and members of the party in the state for their resilience in keeping faith with the party despite the challenges posed by one impostor who was parading himself as the national chairman.

The Chairman informed members that the party is still battling for recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) despite the court order from the Federal High Court dated May 20, 2023, in Abuja, which ordered the electoral body to recognise the party.

“We therefore call on INEC to kindly revisit our appeal for the execution of the judgement of the Federal High Court, whose execution is yet to be executed.

Bagana, however, draws the attention of the general public to the fact that Yusuf Mamman Dantalle has misused the office as the interim national chairman since registration in 2018.

According to Banaga, he held the office for many years “without conducting congresses or conventions to democratically elect leaders of the party at all levels.

“This attracted the wrath of some party faithful who went to court to obtain the judgement to reposition the party to credibility and purposeful leadership.

According to Banaga, “Since the onus fell on me now, I want to assure all that my major task now moves the party to greater heights with your full support.

“The party also petitioned the FCT Commissioner of Police to investigate the activities of the former leader, especially the payment of nomination fees.

“His action has not only impeded the growth of the party but has caused the party public embarrassment, especially to the personalities that are members of the party, and by extension denied the citizens credible leaders that could have emerged as flag bearers, he said.
