The Nigerian Army’s troops neutralised six bandits in Kaduna state during extensive clearance patrols conducted across two local government areas.
The details were outlined in a statement released by Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry for Internal Security and Home Affairs, on Thursday.
According to the statement, operational reports provided to the Kaduna State Government indicated that the troops initiated their operation along the Kaduna-Sabon Birni-Dogon Dawa Road, clearing locations such as Maidaro and Ngede Allah. Subsequently, they proceeded to Saulawa and Kidandan general areas during the operation.
In the course of these operations, the forces made contact with bandits at Maidaro, Ngade Allah and Kidandan.
As a result, according to the statement, “the troops engaged swiftly, subduing the bandits at each point and killing six bandits in the process.
The statement added, “The troops exploited the areas and recovered two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines, 14 rounds of ammunition, along with 40 pairs of bandits’ uniforms. Nine motorcycles belonging to the bandits were captured.”
Upon receiving the feedback, Governor Uba Sani expressed his contentment with the successful progress made by the security forces. He lauded the leadership of Major General VO Okoro, the GOC (General Officer Commanding) of One Division and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, for their commendable efforts.
The Governor also lauded the troops for their fine efforts, as he urged them to sustain the tempo and focus of operations.
