Nigerian Breweries’ Fred Akinmuyisitan honoured as Brandcom Top 35 under 35 marketing communication professional

In an esteemed assembly of industry elites, a member of the marketing leadership team at Nigerian Breweries, Fred Akinmuyisitan was recognised as one of the esteemed Brandcom Brand Communicator’s 35 Under 35 Marketing Communication Professionala 2022 in Nigeria.

The award held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, was given to him during the opulent Brandcom Awards ceremony at The Civic Center in Victoria Island, Lagos, represents a critical turning point in his explosive marketing career and highlights his outstanding contributions to corporate communications and marketing both inside and outside of Nigeria.

An award-winning account planner at various global and regional advertising festivals including the Loeries, Epica Awards, and the first-ever creative effectiveness medal at Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival and also a writer of Nigeria’s first gold-winning case study at the African Cristal Awards, Akinmuyisitan has indeed been instrumental in transforming marketing paradigms.

Fred’s foray into marketing kicked off in 2008 as a researcher and writer for Brand Communicator, Nigeria’s most prominent marketing communications journal, where he provided editorial direction and wrote full-length features on marketing and advertising.

In 2014, he moved to Noah’s Ark as an Account Planning Executive, where he gained cross-industry experience in working with brands in diverse sectors such as technology, industrial goods, pay TV, financial services, and various FMCG sub-sectors markets in West Africa.

As Senior Strategist, Group Head, and subsequently Planning Director at Noah’s Ark, he led strategy for Airtel for almost 4 years, where he played a significant role in the resurgence of the Airtel brand and was responsible for developing the creative strategy for brand platforms such as Data is Life and The In-Laws, and other product campaigns, all which have gone on to drive commercial results for the business.

Within Heineken, he has led multiple portfolio and channel strategy projects and recently worked within the global strategic insights team in Amsterdam, where he deployed a proprietary demand spaces strategy project to 15 markets covering Africa and Middle East, and Asia.

He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, a member of the Account Planning Group (UK) and an associate member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
