Reps pass N61.554bn FCT supplementary budget through second reading

The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed through Second Reading the N61.554 billion Supplementary budget for Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

The Appropriation bill which was transmitted to the House seeks to authorise the issuance from the FCTA’s Statutory Revenue Fund worth N61,553,778,259.93.

From the amount, the sum of N12.900 billion is for Overhead Costs while the sum of N48,653,778,260 is for Capital Expenditure costs for the service of the FCT for the financial year ending on 31 December, 2023.

In his lead debate, Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Bello Kumo urged the House to suspend its relevant rules to take the second reading of the FCT’s Supplementary budget bill.

The bill was referred to the joint House Committees on Federal Capital Territory, Auxiliary Matters and Federal Capital Territory Administration for further legislative action.
