The Ondo State Executive Council, on Thursday, said that political stability in the state has been resolved as all actors embrace peace to give room to development and growth in the state.
This is just as the state government denied forging of the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu’s signature, by certain persons to loot the state treasury, saying the governor still attends to all files.
The meeting held at the Executive chamber of the governor’s office, Alagbaka Akure, was presided over by the deputy governor , Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who returned to the state on Wednesday.
Speaking after the meeting of the exco, the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, disclosed to journalists that several issues were discussed at the meeting.
She listed the issue discussed at the meeting to include the resolutions of the crisis that was reached at the meeting of the gladiators with President Bola Tinubu last Friday in Abuja.
Ademola-Olateju said, “We discussed the issue of the key decision (resolutions reached at the meeting with the President) that there must be peace, that the status quo must remain, that there would be no dissolution of the exco members.
“That the deputy governor should write an undated letter of resignation, that the House of Assembly must not be tampered with, that the party executive must remain. We all agree to embrace peace.”
She also listed the issue of distribution of palliatives to the people of the state among other issues discussed, saying about 1200 bags of rice had been distributed to all the 18 local government areas of the state, while some local governments with larger populations got more .
“In the second tranche of the palliatives, we have distributed garri, beans and other local foodstuffs peculiar to the people of the state.
“Pensioners have been receiving N10,000 since August. We have arranged with the First Bank to pay the people their money through their wallets.
“Agreement has been reached with the labour. We would start paying the N35,000 wage allowance from this month.”, she stated .
While reacting to the allegations of forged signature of Governor Akeredolu, as reported on some social media platforms, the commissioner denied the allegation, describing it as handiwork of mischief makers to cause crisis in the state.
Olateju said all files sent to Akeredolu were approved and returned to her, saying “I sent two files to the Governor and they came back. It was not different from what I am accustomed to.
“Nobody is forging the Governor’s signature to take out money. The Governor is not bigger than the Executive Council. We vowed to work for the progress of Ondo State. Social media fake news peddlers should desist from spreading fake news.”
Some members of the state executives who attended the meeting included, Akeredolu’s son, Babajide, who is Director General of Performance and Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit (PPIMU).
Others at the meeting included Special Adviser on Security Matters, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Dare Aragbaiye, amongst others.
