Senator representing Osun East Senator district, Francis Fadahunsi has assured his constituents that he would remain committed to his focus on human empowerment towards eradicating poverty.
Senator Fadahunsi gave the assurance at an empowerment programme on poultry management held in his senatorial district.
Addressing the 350 beneficiaries, the lawmaker said the training on poultry management was the
sixth of its kind organized and financed by him in the last 50 days.
He said: “Human Capital development is my major priority, every Youth and women of this Senatorial district must have a source of income.”
“Poultry is very lucrative, you can do your small farm in your house and in less than three months you make your money. Because I believe in you, my constituents, I personally facilitated various empowerment programs, in a bid to make Osun East, poverty free.”
Fadahunsi disclosed to the trainees that at the end of the workshop, all of them would be given day-old chicks, starter packs, feeds, drinkers, vaccines, crates and grants to start up their poultry farming immediately.
Senator Fadahunsi enjoined beneficiaries of the skill acquisition program to pay attention to all they learned during the training with a view to maximising the opportunities provided by the programme.
He further disclosed that there would be a post-training follow-up with more financial backing, stressing that there is a ready-made market for the chicken in case the beneficiaries encounter difficulties in disposing them.
Speaking on the reason for the program, Senator Fadahunsi said he had always exhibited unwavering love to help unemployed individuals around him before he ventured into politics, describing the program as one of the ways to give back to society that made him.
