Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has recognised Minister for Works, Senator David Umahi as the worthy successor of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr. Alex Ekwueme and other prominent figures that have shaped the political landscape of the Southeast region.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo disclosed this in a statement signed by its Secretary General Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro on Wednesday.
According to Ohanaeze, the absence of influential figures such as Ojukwu, Dr. Michael Okpara, Dr. Sam Mbakwe, Dr. Alex Ekweme, Pa Mbazulike Amaechi, and Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, demise, had left a void in the Southeast.
Isiguzoro, noted that Senator Umahi has demonstrated remarkable leadership by ensuring the equitable distribution of road construction projects in all six geopolitical zones, employing innovative cement and concrete technologies.
The statement reads “After an extensive search for a leader who can guide the Southeast towards better political representation and a unifying rallying point, Ohanaeze Ndigbo is pleased to recognize Senator Engr.
