Bauchi bags award of excellence as best oil, gas emerging state

Rana Continental Synergy Limited, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, has honored Bauchi State as the 2024 Best Emerging State in the oil and gas sector.

Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir accepted the award on behalf of Bauchi State during the 2024 Nigeria Oil and Gas Forum and Award Dinner organized by Rana Continental Synergy Limited, critical stakeholders in the oil and gas industry, and in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources at the Intercontinental Conference Center in Abuja on January 26, 2024.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner of Natural Resources, Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello, commended the organizers for choosing Bauchi State at this critical moment, aligning with the commitment of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope initiative aimed at addressing the economic challenges facing the country.

The Governor described the event as memorable, unique, and historic for Bauchi State, being selected as the Best Emerging State in Oil and Gas for 2024 in the country. He attributed this recognition to the state’s concerted efforts in areas such as policy formulation, strengthening security, and supporting the ease of doing business, especially after the discovery of the Kolmani oil field in Alkaleri local Government Area of the State.

In his speech, the Minister of State (Gas) at the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, stated that Bauchi has been recognized for its interest in the energy industry as a player and its eagerness to stay updated on the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the Oil and Gas industry in the country.

The Minister, represented by the Director Gas, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Oluremi Komolafe, highlighted that the 2024 Nigeria Oil and Gas Forum Award Dinner focused on excellence in the Oil and Gas industry and Nigerian economic development. The event featured presentations, exhibitions, dinners, and awards presentations, bringing together top executives, CEOs, managers, investors, business communities, government agencies, exporters, and importers from the oil and gas sector across Africa and the world.

Commissioner Maiwada Bello reiterated the Governor’s commitment to fast-tracking the energy sector to foster global investment opportunities. He mentioned ongoing efforts to sensitize host communities and the general public to create an enabling environment for the oil and gas sector to thrive in the state. The State Government is also actively working towards the actualization of an Oil and Gas Institution and providing financial support for interested candidates to encourage mass enrollment.

The Commissioner invited prospective investors to explore mutually beneficial partnerships and invest in the Oil and Gas sector in the state. He expressed deep appreciation to the organizers of the Forum and Award Dinner for recognizing Bauchi State’s contributions to the development of the oil and gas sector in Nigeria and awarding it the Best Emerging State in the Oil and Gas Forum 2024. The Bauchi State entourage included the Commissioners of Finance and Economic Development, Cooperative and Small Scale Enterprise, and others.
