Emir of Ningi marks 46th anniversary with prayers

The Emir of Ningi in Ningi LGA of Bauchi State, Alh (Dr) Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya, has held a special prayer session for clocking 46 on the throne.

During the event held at his palace on Saturday in Ningi, the Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, congratulated the Emir for being the longest-serving monarch since the establishment of the Emirate, pointing out that the Emir is known for his excellent values of integrity, honesty, and justice.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr Muhammad Ibrahim Kashim, the Governor praised the Emir for being supportive in the fight against insecurity and criminality in his domain.

“All the successes recorded in the war against banditry and kidnapping were achieved with your kind gesture and by assisting the government and securities operatives with their necessary needs, the governor stated.

The Governor then prayed that the Emir would live to celebrate 50 years on the throne and even beyond.

He noted that the current administration is working hand in hand with traditional rulers, considering that they are the grass-roots leaders dealing with citizens at the grass-roots level.

The governor assured the state government’s readiness to ensure the quality and speedy completion of the ongoing Ningi emir’s palace reconstruction project.

In his remarks, the Emir of Ningi, Dr Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, thanked the Governor for sending the delegation to grace the prayer session of his 46 years on the throne.

Yunusa Danyaya said that his 46 years on the throne were a blessing from God to him and urged the people of the emirate not to relent in their daily prayers for peaceful coexistence.

He commended the administration of Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for considering Ningi local government in the execution of developmental projects that will directly impact the lives of the citizenry.

The Emir also appreciated the Governor for reviving the lost glory of traditional institutions through the improvement of their welfare as well as the renovation of palaces.

According to him, “This gesture will remain historic as we have never witnessed any governor who gave special consideration to the traditional rulers like Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad since the inception of Bauchi State.”

“He increased our running costs, renovations, and construction of emirs and district heads palaces, among others.”. He said.

It can be recalled that Dr. Muhammadu Dan Yaya was turbaned as the Emir of Ningi Emirate on January 27, 1978, and held his silver jubilee ceremony on February 10, 2018.
