Lagos council boss distributes free UTME forms to 250 students

In line with his administration’s policy on education to encourage tertiary education and raise the literacy bar, the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, on Monday, distributed UTME forms to 250 beneficiaries within the district.

The beneficiaries were drawn from the market groups, religious bodies, political parties, artisans and the physically-challenged.

The Council chairman urged beneficiaries to invest quality time studying in order to record success in the examinations to be able to advance in their learning.   

Speaking during the distribution which was held at the council secretariat on Monday, Apatira said, “Our support on education, particularly the distribution of SSCE and now JAMB forms is one of the cornerstone initiatives of our administration.

“Our primary objective is to encourage and raise the bar of literacy and promote tertiary education among the youths. It is worthy of mention that this gesture goes beyond making available to the beneficiaries forms, it also avails them unique opportunities that would put them in a vantage position for the future tasks.

“Our administration recognises the importance of education hence our investment in the sector. This initiative is a testimony to our administration’s commitment to ensuring that quality education is accessible to all.”

Hon. Apatira urged the beneficiaries to concentrate on their studies and aspire for excellence in their educational pursuits while calling on parents and guardians to encourage their wards to focus on their studies.

He promises his administration’s continued support to the advancement of education while also pledging equal opportunities to all students in Itire-Ikate LCDA.
