Bauchi Gov vows crackdown on criminals

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has declared that henceforth, there will be no more hiding places for criminals and other people with questionable characters anywhere in the state.

The Governor further declared that the joint efforts of security agencies would trace all bad eggs to their hideouts and smoke them out, thereby warning that they either quit their criminal activities, flee the state, or meet their waterloo.

Bala Mohammed was speaking Wednesday evening when he handed over to the State Police Command dangerous and sophisticated weapons and ammunition seized in the state recently.

The weapons were successfully recovered from bandits and kidnapers by local vigilantes and hunters across the state.

He therefore enjoined members of the public to support security agents operating in the state in that direction to enable them to succeed in the fight against insecurity.

The governor commended the local vigilantes and hunters, as well as conventional security agencies, for their efforts and said that his administration will continue to make Bauchi state unconducive for criminals.

In his remarks, while receiving the weapons, State Commissioner of Police Awwal Musa Mohammed commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his support of security agencies in the state.

He said that they will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders in addressing the security challenges facing the state.

Also speaking, the SSA Security to the Governor, Umar Aliyu Shayi, whose partnership with security agencies resulted in various successes in the fight against insecurity in the state, appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for his continued support of the outfits.

He assured that members of the vigilantes and local hunters will continue to comb the bushes and forests across the state until the criminals, bandits, kidnappers, and others are chased out of the state.
