International Women’s Day: Lady Fubara bags peace ambassador award

As part of activities to mark International Women’s Day, the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara has been honoured with the International Peace Ambassador Award.

The award was conferred on her by the International Association for World Peace Advocates for “her commitment to fostering peace and empowerment”.

In a message to mark the 2024 International Women’s Day, Lady Fubara eulogised the women of Rivers State for their resilience and immeasurable contributions to society.

She said; “On this special occasion of the 2024 International Women’s Day, I join the rest of the world to celebrate our esteemed women for their exceptional qualities and contributions to the well-being of our society”.

She noted that the theme of this year’s celebration represents the true essence of the push for gender equality which is hinged on Inspiring Inclusion, as well as the captivating slogan “Investing in Women, Accelerate Progress”.

Lady Fubara emphasised that, without doubt, women have always been the epitome of strength and resilience which are valuable characteristics that accelerate progress in society.

She therefore called on women to always be resolute in what they do to impact society positively, and to be bright lights that shine on everyone on all fronts and in all of life’s endeavours.

She also reiterated her support for her husband’s endeavours in enhancing the quality of life for women and affirming family values in Rivers State.
