Hardship: Oyo lawmaker, Oseni, lauds FG’s N100m palliative

The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in Oyo in the House of Representatives, Aderemi Bass Oseni, on Saturday, commended the proactive stance of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration towards addressing the welfare and needs of the citizenry.

He noted that the government’s measure to mitigate the prevailing hardship, through the intervention of N100 million allocated to each federal constituency by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture will cushion the effects of difficulties among the masses.

Oseni, in a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, which was forwarded to Tribune online, emphasised the importance of such interventions in providing essential support to communities through the distribution of grains to numerous constituents.

The legislator, who is the chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), contended that such development signifies a crucial step towards providing foodstuff for the masses.

While explaining that the palliative is meant for all vulnerable members in the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency regardless of politics, religion and ethnic bias, Oseni disclosed that a contractor had already supplied the rice in the amount of the money approved.

The statement reads: “I want to commend President Bola Tinubu for the several initiatives and interventions of the Federal Government to bring comfort to the people. I also want to reassure all the constituents in Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of my commitment to their welfare at this time and always.

“We are appealing to members of the public to remain patient and calm as the government and elected representatives are making frantic efforts to ensure the effective implementation and equitable distribution of democratic dividends for the benefit of constituents in communities, towns, and villages.”

Restating his resolve to fulfill his campaign promises, Oseni also disclosed that he would be inaugurating road construction equipment for the rehabilitation of rural roads today.
