The Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University, Burundi Sir Paul Chukwuma has donated a sum of one hundred million naira to Holy Ghost Juniorate, Ihiala, Anambra State, to build modern classrooms for the students.
He also assisted all past rectors of the school with the sum of one million naira each to appreciate them for helping to mould students who were morally and academically upright.
Chukwuma, a member of the 1989 set of the seminary donated during the 70th Anniversary of the school and Inter-house sports competition which was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the school facility in Ihiala.
Speaking during the event, the benefactor, urged the school to utilise the funds to build befitting classrooms embedded with various learning aids to prepare the students to compete in a rapidly changing technological world.
Recalling his time at the Seminary, Sir Chukwuma stated that the institution played a significant part in his success story as the discipline and education he got from the school helped shape his worldview.
According to him, “The training and discipline I received here helped in my development. The seminary taught me how to dream. It taught me determination, focus and perseverance. Most importantly it taught me faith, to put my hope and trust in God. When I left the juniorate the lessons I learnt never left me, the compounded effect of all these lessons is who I am today ” he stated.
He urged the students to remain focused and inculcate the virtue of self-discipline and delayed gratification and to pray regularly, never losing faith in God.
