The 2 Division of the Nigerian Army is set to conduct a screening and verification exercise for children of deceased personnel who died in active service for the 2023/2024 session of education sponsorship.
The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations at the 2 Division, Lt. Col. Polycarp Okoye, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the screening/verification exercise covering the Division’s Area of Responsibility is scheduled to take place at Major General J.M. Inienger Sports Complex, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan, on March 21 and 22 and would start at 8 am daily.
The 2 Division spokesman said that the exercise aims to support children of deceased personnel who passed on while serving the nation and provide necessary opportunities for them to advance academically.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that the Nigerian Army is conducting similar exercises across other geopolitical zones of the nation.
